Perak SADC records RM830 million in revenue last year

IPOH: Perak State Agriculture Development Corporation (Perak SADC) had an overall stronger performance last year when it recorded RM830 million in revenue compared with RM410.7 million in 2020.

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said in terms of operations, Perak SADC's revenue recorded in 2021 was RM511 million, an increase of 24.5 per cent compared to the previous year.

Saarani, who is also Perak SADC chairman, said the surge in revenue was mainly influenced by the increase in the average price of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) from RM2,692 per metric tonne to RM4,371 per metric tonne.

"Apart from that, Perak SADC fund reserves (rizab) also recorded an increase of 62.2 per cent from RM473 million in 2020 to RM767 million in 2021.

"Perak SADC's net asset value is also reported to have climbed from RM1.781 billion in 2020 to RM2.068 billion in 2021, an increase of 16 per cent," he said in a statement today.

Earlier, Saarani chaired the Perak SADC Board of Directors' meeting at the Perak SADC headquarters here, today.

He added that the good financial performance not only enabled Perak SADC to expand its business, but also to play a significant role in helping the state government regenerate the state economy and the people in the Covid-19 endemic phase.

"This includes implementing people's capacity-building programs such as entrepreneurship development as well as implementing viable agricultural projects as well as increasing income returns to Perak SADC as well as being channeled to the needy.

"This year alone, Perak SADC has allocated RM30.7 million for contributions to the people and the environment," he added.

To strengthen the initiative to help the people, Saarani said Perak SADC created the concept of #kongsirezeki as a platform to channel donations or assistance to tithe recipients (asnaf) through the social responsibility programme, the Asnaf Farm Distribution, ahead of this year's Aidilfitri celebration.

"A contribution of RM90,000 is channeled in this programme and will benefit 300 recipients who are among the asnaf group, each of whom will receive RM300.

"Perak SADC has also channeled donations amounting to RM1,416,500 during the month of Ramadan to recipients in several districts in Perak which also involves schools, mosques, maahad tahfiz, preparation of lambok porridge and the Al-Quran tadarus programme.

"Praise to Allah, Perak SADC continues to achieve success after success. This #kongsirezeki initiative is a manifestation of Perak SADC's ongoing commitment to continue to be kind to the people and the needy.

"It is Perak SADC's responsibility to be kind to the people in need. Given the improving performance, we can share more with the people," he said.
