KOTA BARU: Farmers in the state suffered about RM26.1 million losses when their crops were destroyed by the last flood.
Kemubu Agriculture Development Authority (Kada) chairman Datuk Kamarudin Md Nor said the losses involved 1,365 farmers in Bachok, Tumpat and Pasir Mas.
"The last flood caused 1,365 of the 7,722 farmers in Kelantan to suffer huge losses when their crops were destroyed by the floodwaters.
"The destroyed crops were planted on a 4,500 ha," he said after breaking fast with local media practitioners here last night.
Kamarudin added that the affected farmers would receive financial aid soon to ease their burdens.
"Kada is in the middle of assessing the exact losses suffered by the farmers.
"We will submit the details soon to the ministry for the next course of action," he said.
