PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry has set up a mobile dental clinic at Karnival Jom Heboh (KJH) in Putrajaya.
One of the dentists, Dr Mohamed Samir Malik said they had received a good number of people registering for dental checkups.
"Although it was raining this morning, about 100 people have registered for today.
"KJH is a name that everyone recognises as it can attract people from all over the country. We even treated patients from Johor Baru.
"Which is why we chose KJH to set up our operation," he said
Samir said their objective was to remind people of the importance of oral health and why they need to do frequent checkups.
"We should not wait until we're in pain or experiencing recurring symptoms to seek dental treatment."
Samir said fear of going to the dentist was common be it among children or adults.
"What people need to realise is that teeth are something that we're going to use in the long term.
"They should not be worried because our doctors are experts in addition to great facilities and modern medicines used for treatment," he said.
Samir said it was also crucial for parents to educate their children and expose them to the clinic environment at an early age.
