STPM results: Number of candidates with perfect 4.0 CGPA sees slight increase

KUALA LUMPUR: The percentage of candidates who scored a perfect 4.0 in cumulative grade point average (CGPA) in the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) 2021 slightly increased compared to the previous year.

Malaysian Examinations Council (MPM) chairman Professor Datuk Dr Mohd Ekhwan Toriman said 874 candidates scored 5As or 4As for the STPM 2021.

This is an increase of 133 candidates compared to the 741 candidates who scored 4.0 in CGPA for their STPM 2020.

"Of the total candidates who scored 4.0 CGPA for the STPM in 2021, 66.82 per cent or 584 of them were from the B40 category," said Mohd Ekhwan, who is also the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia vice-chancellor

Also present during the announcement of the STPM 2021 results, which was held at the MPM headquarters in Batu Caves near here, was the council's chief executive Adnan Husin.

Mohd Ekhwan added that 42,369 of the total 44,704 who registered for STPM 2021 sat for the examination.
