Flood situation in Taman Sri Muda returns to normal

KUALA LUMPUR: Flood waters which inundated Taman Sri Muda in Section 25, Shah Alam yesterday evening following a heavy downpour has subsided and the situation has returned to normal.

Based on the Department of Irrigation's Infobanjir portal, the Klang river's water level had returned to its normal level of 3.01m.

"The water level at Sungai Klang remained normal at 3.01m as of 1.30pm today," it said.

Yesterday, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Hamdan Wahid said the flood waters had receded as of 6.30pm.

According to Hamdan, the department received a distress call at 5.05pm yesterday regarding floods in Jalan Harapan, Jalan Waja, Jalan Makmur and Jalan Mahir in Taman Sri Muda.

He said teams from the department were still on standby in Taman Sri Muda.

The department had also deployed a team comprising 24 personnel and three senior officers and mobilised assets such as five rescue boats, a fire rescue tender (FRT) and an emergency medical rescue service (EMRS) vehicle to the locations.
