KUALA LUMPUR: Stakeholders such as real estate investors, researchers and government agencies can now obtain a digital plan of Kuala Lumpur's planning information online through the eMAP CPS (City Planning System) service much more quickly, easily and conveniently.

Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Mahadi Che Ngah said among the digital planning information plans based on geospatial mapping included current land use according to parliamentary constituencies, gazette plans, planning control layer plans as well as land zoning and density plans.

"Before this, users had to physically attend the City Planning Department of Kuala Lumpur City Hall to obtain a digital plan of planning information in hard copy, now they have the option of obtaining it online.

"This initiative can speed up and simplify matters in terms of application, payment and downloading the purchase of a digital plan of planning information in addition to making it more transparent and efficient," he said at a press conference after the launch of the service here today.

Mahadi said the eMAP service offers a digital plan of Kuala Lumpur planning information in PDF and Geospatial (GIS) format in various sizes from A4 to A1 and payment can be made online.

"The digital planning information of Kuala Lumpur is very important especially to investors for them to plan investment strategies and can also be used for scientific purposes and discussion at the community level by various parties," he said.

In a separate ceremony, Kuala Lumpur City Hall signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kuala Terengganu City Council.

It is to enable partnership from various aspects including management, services, capital development and community so as to become a more competitive and efficient local authority. – Bernama
