2023 Budget: RM55bil in subsidies, incentives to control prices of goods

KUALA LUMPUR: RM55 billion is being set aside under the 2023 Budget for subsidies and incentives to ease the burden of the people.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said this would ensure goods were sold at reasonable prices.

"RM200 million of this allocation covers the cost of transport and distribution of basic necessities, such as rice, cooking oil, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petrol and diesel, for rural residents," he said when tabling the 2023 Budget in Parliament.
