KUALA LUMPUR: A restaurant located at Nexus Bangsar South on Jalan Kerinchi 2 here caught fire today.
The lunch hour crowd at Amber restaurant and other occupants which included a private hospital, were forced to evacuate the building.
Fire and Rescue Operations Commander PBK Ramli Mohamad said they received a distress call via MERS999 and despatched a 10-men team from Pantai station to the scene.
"Upon arriving at the scene, we found the kitchen of a restaurant located inside the Nexus building on fire.
"We immediately doused the fire using offensive and defensive fire fighting techniques to stop the fire from spreading to other parts of the restaurant and building," he said.
No one was injured in the 12.49pm incident.
"We managed to put out the fire completely by 1.20pm," he said, adding that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
More than 100 evacuees, who were gathered outside the building, were later allowed to return to their respective offices at about 2pm.
