KOTA BARU: The number of flood victims in the East Coast state of Kelantan keeps rising with 9,149 victims recorded as of 8.20am this morning (Dec 19), compared to 7,096 victims the last night (Dec 18).
The victims are from 2,707 affected families who have been placed at 80 Temporary Flood Relief Centres (PPS) in nine districts across the state.
According to the website infobencanajkmv2.jkm.gov.my, Pasir Mas is the worst hit district or area in the state with 3,486 flood victims followed by Tanah Merah with 1,321 victims.
Pasir Puteh has 1,070 flood victims followed by Machang (814); Kuala Krai (773); Kota Bharu (569); Bachok (448); Tumpat (223) and Jeli (207).
As of this morning, the rain continues and the number of flood victims is also expected to increase.
