BATANG KALI: Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis made a stop at the landslide site in Jalan Batang Kali - Gohtong just after he was released from hospital.
Norazam, who was admitted to the Selayang Hospital on Monday due to fatigue and a mild stroke, went to the site after his discharge to visit his men who are on duty and to see the latest development of the search and rescue operation.
He also took time to meet media and Information Department personnel who are on duty at the site.
When met by the media, Norazam said he was there to lift the spirit of all the personnel who are working hard to find the remaining victim.
"The doctor found that I had a 'transient ischemic attack' (mild stroke). I will have to undergo further treatment and was allowed to leave today.
"I am in good condition. I am here because there is still a victim that has yet to be found and I want to see my men to give them encouragement to continue the search," he said.
He also thanked everybody for the support that they have given to all the rescue workers, especially the firemen.
"I wish to thank all for their support and this will lift our spirits. We have found 30 victims so far and with your support, we will continue with the search," he said.
Norazam was admitted to the hospital on Monday evening because of fatigue and a mild stroke.
