KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms are expected to take place in several areas in nine states this evening.
The affected states are Pahang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka, Johor, Sarawak and Sabah.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said in the morning, thunderstorms are expected over several areas in Sabah including in Kudat and the state's West Coast.
Rain is also expected over coastal areas in Selangor and Labuan, interiors of Sabah as well as Sandakan in the morning.
In Sarawak, thunderstorms are expected over Kuching, Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu and Mukah.
In Sabah, the areas affected are namely in the interiors, West Coast, Tawau, Sandakan, Kudat and Labuan.
Rain can also be expected in one or two places in the northern states of Kedah and Perak this evening while windy conditions are expected in Pulau Pinang. There is no rain forecast for Perlis and the east coast states of Kelantan and Terengganu.
At night, thunderstorms are expected to hit a few places in Sabah, namely its interior, West Coast, Sandakan and Labuan.
Six states are expected to experience rain at night, namely Perak, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor while in Sarawak rain is expected over Miri and Limbang.
Tomorrow, Sabah is expected to experience thunderstorms over several areas from morning until evening.
In the evening, thunderstorms are expected over Pahang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.
Again in Sabah, thunderstorms are expected over the West Coast, Kudat, the interior, Tawau, Sandakan and Labuan.
