SHAH ALAM: Police suspect an electrical short circuit has triggered a fire at the popular textile outlet, Jakel Shah Alam in Section 7 this morning.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said investigation was still on-going to determine the extent of damages caused by the fire which was said to have engulfed 80 per cent of the outlet.
"The cause of the fire is believed to be due to a short circuit in the premises. There are no casualties and we are also investigating to ascertain the level of damage sustained from the fire," he said in a statement.
Iqbal said police received information on the fire at 7.10am and set up several roadblocks to ensure safety of motorists in the area.
He said nine fire engines were deployed to the scene to control the blaze.
"Police officers are also at the scene to monitor and assess the situation." he said.
