KEPALA BATAS: The water theme park in Bertam, here, which was ordered to close days after opening its doors to the public last month, has received the go-ahead to operate.
On Dec 28, the water theme park was instructed by the Seberang Prai City Council (MBSP) to close for operating without a licence.
MBSP today said Bertam Souk & Water Park's application for a premise licence and entertainment licence for water theme park activities was approved yesterday.
"The approval comes the same day the water theme park receives its CCC (Certificate of Completion and Compliance).
'MBSP hopes that the re-opening of the water theme park, will benefit the visitors and serves as a new tourist attraction in Seberang Prai," he said.
Bertam Souk & Water Park, Penang also took to its Facebook page yesterday to announce the good news.
"We are back and ready to splash!
"It's great to see you again…visit us and push your excitement to the max!"
It was reported that the water theme park was instructed to close on Dec 28 for operating with a licence.
A clip went viral on several social media platforms on the closure of the water theme park.
The clip also showed several people who had come together with their families wanting to spend the school holidays at the theme park and were disappointed to find the premises closed.
Some social media users supported the action by the local authorities as they were concerned about the safety of visitors coming to the theme park.
