Japanese tailor scales Mt Kinabalu in business suit, leather shoes

KUALA LUMPUR: A Japanese tailor took clothing marketing and advertising to a whole new level, when he decided to climb Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, wearing a blue three-piece business suit and a brown Asics leather business shoes.

The man, identified as Nobutaka Sada, is a business suit maker who also markets his brand 'Sada' through videos shot in unusual circumstances and unexpected locations.

He was captured on video by one of the porters who bumped into him on Wednesday. Sada, in the three-piece suit, was spotted holding a briefcase while making the climb.

In the 10-second video, the porter was heard asking Sada where he was from, to which he replied: "I am from Japan. I have a business meeting at the peak of Mount Kinabalu".

The porter then wished him good luck and continued with his hike. He later spotted Sada again at the peak of the mountain, posing for photos.

The video garnered quite an attention from locals that he was confronted at the airport as he was about to board a plane.

Meanwhile, Sada talked about his climb on his Facebook page, saying that he enjoyed the climb despite the humid condition.

"Climbing Mt. Kinabalu, Malaysia's highest peak in Borneo, with SADA's order suit! Mountain higher than Mt. Fuji at 4095m elevation!

"In addition, I was able to stay in a hut in the middle of the starlight, climb up a steep climb, and enjoy the light at the top of the mountain!." he wrote.

Sada also mentioned that he was approached by a man at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport and told that his climb has been uploaded on TikTok, garnering a lot of likes, comments and views.
