Firemen rescue baby and toddler trapped in car

JOHOR BARU: Firemen swiftly came to the rescue of two young children who were trapped for more than 30 minutes in a car parked in front of a house along Jalan Aliff Harmoni in Taman Damansara Aliff here last night.

A spokesperson for the Johor Fire and Rescue Services Department said that they received a distress call regarding the incident at around 10.38pm last night.

The spokesperson said that a team of six firemen from the Larkin Fire Station along with an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle and three Rapid Intervention Motorcycles (RIM) were despatched to the scene of the incident.

The operation was led by the department's senior officer II, Abdul Razak Mohd Saat.

"The two boys, a two-year-old and a 12-month-old, got locked inside a Peugeot car.

"The firemen sprang into action immediately upon arrival to open one of the vehicle doors using special equipment and managed to save the boys.

"The boys are well and the operation ended at around 11.02pm last night," said the spokesperson via a media statement today.
