Chaos as shoppers wrestle over discounted Baju Raya in Shah Alam [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Chaos broke out at a clothing store in Seksyen 7, Shah Alam, on Saturday when the store announced a bargain bonanza for their Baju Raya collection.

According to comments online, the clothing brand that specialises in ready-to-wear Muslim fashion and has several branches across Malaysia offered a limited number of early birds the chance to purchase items at heavily discounted prices.

Several netizens claimed that the store was selling their fashion wear at just RM1 for the first few customers.

The resulting frenzy quickly spiralled out of control as shared on TikTok and Twitter, showing customers caught in a crush and scrambling over each other to grab items.

In one of the clips posted on Twitter, which has since garnered over 110,000 views, shoppers were barging into the store as soon as the doors opened, that left security guards struggling to maintain control.

One guard was reportedly injured and is seen being escorted away from the crowd by a colleague.

Hundreds of people reportedly queued for hours outside the store before the doors opened early Saturday, with some people online likening the bargain-hunting shoppers to "animals fighting over food".

Netizens slammed the store for failing to provide sufficient planning and security guards.
