National Press Club, Macrokiosk launch monthly Muhibbah Awards recognising good deeds

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Press Club (NPC) has launched the NPC-Macrokiosk Muhibbah Awards recognising any individual, group or organisation that best shows the true spirit of muhibbah.

NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan said the awards, a joint collaboration with enterprise solutions platform provider Macrokiosk, was meant to celebrate good deeds of the public that impact their local community.

He said that now, more than ever, was the time to recognise and reward those who embody the spirit of muhibbah.

"Many acts of selfless service have gone under the radar, and we feel it's time that kindness gets noticed and rewarded," he said at the launch of the award series at the NPC clubhouse in Jalan Tangsi.

Ahiruddin said he hoped the awards series would lead the country and society to become stronger, more resilient and more united.

Meanwhile, Macrokiosk chief executive officer Datuk Kenny Goh agreed that it was about time noble deeds were highlighted.

"The main idea of the award is to reignite the spirit of muhibbah. The award is to tell the world that there are good, noble people out there. Bring the community together and relive the spirit of muhibbah," he said.

Winners of this monthly award will be chosen by a rotating panel of media editors and senior journalists.

The monthly winners of the award will take home RM2,000, vouchers from lifestyle tea brand Tealive, fresh market brand Jaya Grocer and natural yoghurt brand Ilaollao.
