The appointment was announced by State Health and Unity Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon today (Apr 26).
In a Facebook post, Ling said Dr Mohtar will replace Datuk Dr Aman Rabu who went on mandatory retirement on Apr 11 (Tues).
He said Dr Mohtar, 55, will still serve as HSA director until the end of this month.
"The state government would like to congratulate Dr Mohtar on his appointment.
"It is hoped that his leadership skills and experience can improve the quality of health services in Johor for the state to progress further and achieve excellence," he said.– Bernama
