KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has returned to work after recovering from a gallstone surgery.
He received a courtesy call from the new Sabah Police Commissioner, Datuk Jauteh Dikun, at the Chief Minister's official residence in Sri Gaya today.
Jauteh, 57, a native of Ranau, was appointed as the new Sabah Police Commissioner, replacing Datuk Idris Abdullah who retired on March 31.
During the meeting, Jauteh updated Hajiji on upcoming police programmes, plans, operations, and challenges faced in Sabah.
Hajiji welcomed Jauteh's appointment as the new state police chief and expressed confidence that the police force would be able to maintain and improve the security of the state over time.
He also assured him that the state government would support the construction of additional police huts and security operations throughout Sabah.
During the meeting, Jauteh thanked Hajiji and the state government for their unwavering support to the police force.
Also present during the meeting were new Deputy Sabah Police Commissioner Shahurinain Jais, Special Branch head SAC Datuk Mohd Salleh Yahya, Management Department head SAC Nik Md Zain Nik Omar, Criminal Investigation Department head SAC Azmi Abdul Rahim, and Logistic Department head ACP Datin Laila Sagir.
