PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim joined the congregation at the Putra Mosque here this morning, to perform Aidiladha prayers.
Anwar, clad in light blue baju Melayu arrived at the mosque at 8.17am and was greeted by Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) director-general Datuk Hakimah Mohd Yusoff.
The prayers began at 8.33am, commencing with the 'takbir' and a special prayer before concluding with a sermon titled "The meaning of sacrifice" that was delivered by Putra Mosque chief imam Salahudin Ghozali.
Also joining the 20,000 congregants at the main prayer hall of the mosque were Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
