KUALA LUMPUR: The remarks made by caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor who allegedly insulted the Selangor royal institution is not yet resolved.
The Selangor Royal Office said this was conveyed by the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah following the state ruler's audience with Selangor Pas commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yunus Hairi and state's police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan at the Selangor palace.
"The Sultan agreed to have a separate audience with Ahmad Yunus and Hussein Omar, which discussed the statement made by Sanusi in one of the ceramahs held in Selangor recently.
"It (the remarks) was considered an insult to the Selangor Royal Institution and the Sultan decreed that the matter has yet to be resolved," it said in a statement, today.
Previously, Sanusi during a Perikatan Nasional (PN) ceramah in Selayang was reported to have belittled the appointment of Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shaari by the Sultan of Selangor.
Sanusi also drew comparisons between the Sultan of Kedah (Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah) and the Sultan of Selangor in appointing Amirudin as Menteri Besar which he labelled as 'cokia' (substandard).
Following this, he sent a warkah (letter) to Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah to explain his remarks and also apologised to the sultan of Selangor after police reports were lodged against him.
Meanwhile, the police had received 57 police reports against Sanusi as of yesterday over his speech that had allegedly insulted the Sultan of Selangor.
Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the investigation on the PN election director will proceed, despite an apology issued from the latter.
