KUALA LUMPUR: The Petaling Jaya Dispersal Link (PJD Link) project could be revived if the developer meets the requirements, says caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
"We can carry on with it (project) if they can fulfil the state's conditions and accommodate the people.
"As of now, we are unable to do so because certain conditions have not been fulfilled," he said after launching the Tawaran Kita Selangor: 5 Tekad untuk 5 Tahun (Our offers to Selangor: Five Determinations for Five Years) which highlights Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional's manifesto for Selangor, last night.
Also present were Selangor Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) chairman Izham Hashim, DAP deputy chairman Gobind Singh Deo, and Selangor Barisan Nasional chairman Megat Zulkarnain Omardin.
Yesterday, Amirudin announced the cancellation of the proposed (PJD Link) elevated highway project.
He said that based on the Social Impact Assessment Report, his administration "was not satisfied with the plan presented as it does not fulfil the conditions" previously laid down by the state.
"This administration's principle is that development in Selangor should have a balance in terms of sustainability, economic progress, and not cause harm to residents," he said.
The 14.9-kilometre expressway was supposed to connect the Damansara-NKVE interchange of the New Klang Valley Expressway to Bandar Kinrara. It is aimed at reducing traveling time between Damansara and Kinrara by some 25 per cent.
