Sanusi confirms another term as Kedah MB

ALOR STAR: Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has announced that he will be sworn in as the Kedah Menteri Besar tomorrow.

The Perikatan Nasional election director said he was scheduled to take the oath of office before the Sultan of Kedah, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah at 10am, in a ceremony held at Istana Anak Bukit.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I am scheduled to take the oath tomorrow morning at 10am.

"I hope the people of Kedah will continue to stand united with us in our dedicated efforts to develop the state with well-structured plans," the caretaker Kedah menteri besar said in his speech at the Himpunan Mandat Rakyat at state Pas Complex here last night.

Also present were all 33 newly elected PN state assemblymen from the August 12 state elections.

Meanwhile, Sanusi said that the appointment of the new line of state executive councillors would be determined by the state PN leadership.

"Regarding the selection, I see all of these assemblymen as qualified candidates, I'm not sure who to appoint.

"We leave it to the state PN leadership to decide, they will discuss and present the names to me," he added.

Sanusi also promised that his new administration would be committed to developing the state in the coming years,

On Saturday, the Pas-led coalition extended its dominance in Kedah with a thumping victory of over two-thirds majority in the Kedah State Assembly after securing 33 seats.
