Muhyiddin's son-in-law, lawyer placed on Interpol Red Notice list

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's son-in-law, Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, along with lawyer Mansoor Saat, are now on Interpol's Red Notice list.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain confirmed the matter to a Malay daily.

"Yes, it's done. The Red Notice has been issued against both individuals," he was quoted as saying.

On Aug 15, Razarudin confirmed that police received the red notice application against Muhammad Adlan and Manoor.

Police, he said, received the application request verbally from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Previously, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the graft buster will seek Interpol's help in tracking down two individuals suspected of fleeing the country.

Muhammad Adlan, 48 and Mansor, 69, are being investigated by the MACC in relation to misappropriation in the registration, recruitment and biometric storage of foreign workers in a ministry.

MACC said they had left the country in May.

However, both Adlan and Mansoor issued statements through their lawyers denying that they are on the run to escape prosecution.
