Van transporting Singaporean tourists falls into ravine; rescue underway

BALIK PULAU: A van carrying tourists from Singapore plunged into a 6m-deep ravine while descending a slope in Jalan Teluk Kumbar-Bukit Genting here tonight.

There were nine people on board and a rescue mission is underway.

The Seri Balik Pulau fire station was alerted to the incident about 8.14pm.

Operations officer Mohd Suffian Kamarul Baharin said, when they arrived at the scene, they found the van had skidded and fell into the ravine.

"There were nine people inside and rescue efforts are underway," he said.
