Malaysian GrabFood users saved RM27 million with 'Saver' delivery

AS of August this year, GrabFood consumers in Malaysia have collectively saved over RM27 million with the 'Saver' delivery option.

GrabFood introduced this feature earlier this year, and it has increased in popularity after being rolled out to more cities nationwide.

The 'Saver' delivery allows customers to order food with a lower delivery charge, in exchange for a slightly longer delivery time.

Despite the longer delivery times, customers in Malaysia were satisfied with their orders.

Among those who left a review, at least 96 per cent gave delivery-partners a five-star rating.

In Southeast Asia, the 'Saver' delivery option has helped consumers save RM81 million on delivery fees.

Malaysia makes up around a third of all food orders under this feature, followed by Singapore and the Philippines.

Grab Malaysia marketing head Hassan Alsagoff, said: "Saver delivery expands the range of consumers we're able to serve reducing fees, while making food delivery even more accessible for Malaysians.

"Our aim is to serve all Malaysians, no matter where they are, and in every way we can from those who are more budget conscious, to those who prioritise speed, and much more."

According to Grab, the company is constantly looking at ways to provide even more value for all users consumers, delivery and driver-partners and merchant-partners.

Recent updates to the app now give customers better clarity into each order, including showing when delivery fees are set and real-time delivery updates.
