KUALA LUMPUR: Tributes poured in for a Langkawi Ironman participant Muhaini Mahmud who died at the Sultanah Maliha Hospital's intensive care unit following a near-drowning incident yesterday.
According to Muhaini's younger brother Radzlan Jalal in a posting, Muhaini will be laid to rest on Sep 9 at Tanah Perkuburan Jalan Ampang, here.
"I could not hold my tears. My big sister Muhaini Mahmud just passed away. May Allah (God) forgive all her sins and place her among the righteous," he said.
Friends and relatives were also seen expressing their condolences through multiple Facebook posts.
"We met three weeks ago. A friend who always calls or messages to ask how I am. Who always helps other friends. Thank you for being such a good friend. We will miss you so much, Muhaini Mahmud," user @Danni Rais said.
"Ya Allah, shocked (to know) about my cousin's passing. You will be missed by us. Your potpetpotpet (nagging), your big laugh. I miss you dearly," @Sharifah Nur Alia said.
Muhaini was the co-founder of Kiddocaremy and a former director of corporate affairs at the Weststar Group.
In her last Facebook posting on Sep 25, Muhaini stressed the importance of water safety through a programme participated by parents and children as well as lifeguards.
"..We would like to stress the importance that safety should not only be at home, but also outdoors where children love to be on an adventure, making awareness of water safety an absolute must to ensure that people can avoid potential risks or dangers near or in the water," she said in the posting.
