KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police are still waiting for a response on the Red Notice application filed against former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's son in law at Interpol Headquarters in Lyon, France.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the application for Datuk Muhammad Adlan Berhan and his partner has yet to be acknowledged by Interpol headquarters, causing a delay in issuing the Red Notice.
"Interpol here is still waiting for a response from Interpol Lyon, and we are confident that a red notice will be issued soon.
"We received Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's request ( to help locate him ) on Oct 3 and have officially handed those documents to Interpol as well, for them to hand him over to us," he said.
Earlier it was reported that police had filed for a red notice to be issued for Muhammad Adlan but his name had not come up on the Interpol's website.
This comes following a letter from Muhammad Adlan's lawyer that clarified that he was not running away from authorities but was abroad for business matters.
He had promised to return to Malaysia once his work abroad is completed.
