KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal has welcomed the police report to be filed against him by Datuk Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.
Wan Fayhsal, who is also Machang member of parliament (MP), said the report will ensure that police can fully investigate the issue of Bersatu MPs being enticed to support Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
This comes after Farhash, who is Anwar's former political aide, reportedly said he would lodge a police report against Wan Fayshal after the latter accused him and another individual known as Datuk Botak of having involvement in pursuing several opposition MPs to support the leadership of the prime minister.
"He (Farhash) has threatened to file a police report against me and sue me, however, he should not act deliriously (tidak melatah) without checking facts.
"I have never defamed him and I merely read a police report that was lodged by one of Bersatu Youth members on Nov 14.
"However, I welcome the police report filed by Farhash so the matter can be fully investigated by the police. Let the police take action, as the report contained all the facts for the authorities to carry out the investigation," he said during a press conference in Parliament, today.
He added that all evidence pertaining to the issue, including videos, texts, photos and emails used as modus operandi had also been submitted with the report lodged with police.
At the same time, Wan Fayhsal said he was also ready to face the demands, but cautioned Farhash to not use government agencies as a tool to intimidate him, as what was done to other opposition MPs.
"I am ready to face his demands, but he should not use government agencies like the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) or the police to attack me, as what happened recently to many opposition MPs."
Yesterday, Farhash denied any involvement in pursuing several opposition members to support the leadership of the prime minister, saying he has no acknowledgement of the baseless allegations made against him by Wan Fayhsal.
