14-year-old reported missing found; ran away from boarding school to escape bullies

KUALA LUMPUR: A boarding school student, Muhammad Danial Akmal Zulkhairi, 14, who was reported missing yesterday, is believed to have been bullied.

The victim's mother, Shuhada Jamaludin, 38, said that her son, who was found by the public in a shelter waiting for a bus in front of Masjid Saidina Othman, Bandar Tun Razak, admitted to being severely bullied last night.

Due to the bullying incident, Muhammad Danial, affectionately known as Enel, decided to escape from his boarding school at 3am last Thursday.

"The incident was revealed by my son himself, explaining why he was so determined to escape from school early in the morning. Enel could no longer endure and cope with the severe bullying he experienced.

"This is not the first time Enel has been bullied. Previously, he was also bullied, but I was advised to resolve the matter amicably without accusing the perpetrator," she said.

Following the bullying incident, Shuhada stated that legal action would be taken on behalf of her son regarding the bullying incident.

She emphasised the necessity of such actions to improve her son's fate, as he had been severely bullied.

"This is the second time a severe bullying incident has happened to Enel. I cannot remain silent anymore.

"I will fight against this and take decisive action to ensure justice is served," she said.

When asked about Enel's discovery, Shuhada mentioned that her son was found in a very weakened state due to not eating.

According to her, Enel only had one meal on the first day since escaping from school, just touching a piece of bread and drinking water given by someone.

Furthermore, she described Enel as escaping from the school dormitory with only the clothes on his back and without bringing his wallet.

"When I met Enel last night (Friday), he looked very unkempt and almost like someone in distress.

"I have never seen Enel like this before. However, my family and I are very grateful that Enel was found safe," she said.
