Kelantan cops confirm viral school bullying clip is an old case

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have confirmed that a clip showing a student being bullied by his peers at a school in Kelantan, which has resurfaced on social media since yesterday, is an old recording.

Pasir Mas district police chief Assistant Commissioner Kamal Azural Mohamed, quoted by Kosmo, as saying that the incident occurred four years ago and the case has already been concluded in court.

"The student involved was charged under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting and was fined RM500 with a good behaviour bond," he said in a statement.

It was previously reported that a 54-second clip circulated online showing a male student being beaten by his peers.

The incident is believed to have occurred in a classroom while the victim's friends looked on and recorded the event.
