JOHOR BARU: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) and several federal government agencies and private sectors to implement the Johor Fast Lane initiative on Thursday.
MBJB Mayor Datuk Noorazam Osman said the Johor Fast Lane (JFL) is an initiative that speeds up and streamlines developers' and investors' applications to operate their businesses in the state.
The MoU involved the collaboration with the Public Works Department, Irrigation and Drainage Department, Environment Department, Fire and Rescue Department, as well as several other government agencies, private agencies and external technical agencies, will enhance efficiency.
"JFL will facilitate the development process, starting from pre-approval plans to the completion of buildings on-site.
"JFL will also assist in obtaining the required operational permits within a shorter timeframe.
"This is achieved through a combination of streamlined processes at the planning approval stage, on-site construction, issuance of the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), and granting of operating licenses," he said during the full council meeting held at Dewan Inai Merah in MBJB Towers, here, today.
Noorazam said with the establishment of the Special Economic Zones (SEZ), JFL facilities will also be extended to commercial sectors developers and investors, namely to construction hospitals, schools, petrol stations, restaurants, and various other development models, to channel their applications.
He urged those planning to start business in Johor, to utilise the JLF facilities.
The JFL initiative aims to expedite development processes, attract investors, while boost Johor's economic growth.
"With streamlined procedures and collaborative efforts between government agencies and stakeholders, Johor is poised to become an even more attractive destination for investment and business expansion," he said.
