KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has approved the establishment of a Gig Workers Commission, prioritising social protection, contract disputes and career advancement for gig workers.
In January, Ahmad Zahid, who is the Rural and Regional Development Minister said he was committed to setting up a gig economy commision and was still waiting for Cabinet's approval.
He had said that the establishment of the commission was mainly to protect and safeguard the welfare of gig workers in the country.
