KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 183 individuals successfully passed the Social Security Organisation (Socso) examination and obtained professional certification in two main fields, Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) and the Certified International Pension and Retirement Professional (CIPRP) at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) on March 2.
In a statement today, Socso said 139 people qualified for the CDMP, including 14 from the Philippines and Indonesia.
"Another 44 individuals received the CIPRP certificate. The certification programmes are offered to individuals from Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
"CDMP is a professional certification that enhances the capacity of disability management practitioners in empowering aspects of social security protection through the Return to Work Programme.
"Disability management is a significant element in assisting workers to re-enter the workforce, closely related to human resource management policies, as well as occupational safety and health in providing conducive workplaces for disabled workers to achieve optimal performance," the statement said.
To date, 457 individuals hold this professional certification, with 24 being disability management practitioners from Southeast Asian countries and the rest Malaysians.
Both certificates were presented at the Socso Professional Certification Ceremony 2024, which also highlighted retirement system management, social protection, and post-retirement policy development and strategies.
The certification, introduced in 2022, is crucial in adding value to the country's human resources to ensure they are trained, skilled, professional, productive, and committed, thereby contributing to the improvement of national productivity and economy.
