KUALA LUMPUR: Just hours before the deadline, the Central Database Hub (Padu) experienced an online crash with login issues due to the high volume of users accessing its site.
Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said that the rate of current users per minute is very high.
"Alhamdulillah, it is okay now (as of 3.25pm).
"In the interim we have mobilised offline registration for those who came to the physical counters," he told the New Straits Times.
In the last hour, users reported multiple unsuccessful attempts to login on different devices such as laptops and handphones.
A dialogue box prompting "There was an error during login" would pop up during these failed attempts.
The public has about eight more hours to register.
Padu physical counters will be closed today at 5pm.
So far, over 10 million have registered with Padu.
