Starbucks in Tawau vandalised

TAWAU: The premises of the international coffee brand, Starbucks, on Jalan T2, was vandalised with spray paint this morning.

The act of vandalism was discovered around 8.30 am by the site supervisor before the management of the coffee brand made a police report.

Tawau District Deputy Police Chief Superintendent Champin Piuh said they received a report about the incident around 12.30 pm.

"Examination through closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage found two individuals suspected of committing the act using spray paint but the images are unclear.

"However, the management of Building T2 and Starbucks promptly removed the graffiti," he said.

Piuh advised the public or any individual not to provoke, including vandalising the premises' walls.

"The police are actively tracking down the suspects involved in this case, and if identified, legal action will be taken," he said.

Previously, the images of the vandalised premises began circulating on social media today, eliciting various reactions among netizens.
