Four Kada officers remanded at Kota Baru court today for making false claims, receiving bribes

KOTA BARU: The state Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today obtained a four-day remand order and three-day extension against four senior officers of the Kemubu Agriculture Development Authority (Kada) for allegedly making false claims and receiving bribes.

The four who were arrested by MACC separately on Apr 30 and last night, were remanded at the Kota Baru Sessions court here.

Three of them have been remanded for four days beginning today while other officer had his remand order extended for another three days beginning tomorrow.

The new remand order and extension remand order were obtained before judge Nik Habri Muhamad.

All orders end on May 9.

It was reported that three Kada officers including its general manager were arrested by MACC last night for allegedly receiving bribes.

The three, all men, were detained when they were summoned to the Kelantan MACC headquarters to have their statements recorded.

The three, aged between 49 and 40, were detained separately between 7.15pm to 8pm.

On Apr 30, state MACC nabbed a Kada senior officer, in his 40s, for allegedly making false claims for the agency's programmes.

He allegedly made the false claims between last year to early this year.
