Seven areas across Klang Valley, Selangor to have water supply disruptions from June 5 [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Seven locations throughout Klang Valley and Selangor will experience water supply disruptions due to upcoming maintenance and replacement works at Sungai Selangor Phase 1 (SSP1 WTP) water treatment plant.

Air Selangor in a statement today said the affected areas are Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor, and Kuala Selangor.

"Water supply disruptions in these areas will start from 9am, June 5 (Wednesday) and are expected to be completed by 7pm on the same day.

The water supply is expected to be distributed to consumers in stages at 3am, June 6 (Thursday) after the maintenance and replacement works are completed.

Air Selangor said the percentage of water supply recovery in the affected areas is expected to reach approximately 20 per cent at 3pm, June 6 (Thursday) and 90 per cent at 3am, June 7 (Friday). The full recovery time is expected to be at noon on June 7.

As such, Air Selangor added, it will be mobilising water tankers to the affected areas, giving priority to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral centres.

"Air Selangor would like to advise affected consumers to keep adequate water supply and use water prudently during this period of scheduled water supply disruption.

"For commercial customers, the purchase of water supply can be made at any of Air Selangor's customer service counters across all regions.

"Commercial customers can fill their respective water tankers at four local water filling stations that will be opened in Braemar Estate (Hulu Langat region), Taman Gemilang Dengkil and Pekan Salak (Sepang region), as well as Taman Banting Baru (Kuala Langat region)."

The statement added that the duration of the water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location of the consumer's premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.

"Consumers can also obtain information from alternative official communication channels such as the Air Selangor application, Facebook, Instagram and X or call Air Selangor's Call Centre at 15300 or visit www.airselangor.com."
