PADANG TERAP: A man is feared to have drowned while his friend survived when their boat capsized while fishing in Pedu Lake here yesterday evening.
Kuala Nerang fire station chief Aminuddin Mad Khozali said a search and rescue (SAR) operation was activated at about 6.20pm.
"The two men were fishing in Pedu Lake when their boat capsized.
"One of the anglers was rescued by a another fishing boat that happened to be in the vicinity and he was rushed to the Kuala Nerang Hospital.
"A SAR operation had been mounted to locate the second victim who is still missing," he said in a statement.
Aminuddin said divers from the Fire and Rescue Department will resume the underwater search operation tomorrow morning after it was suspended at about 10pm.
