GEORGE TOWN: A heavy rain downpour yesterday evening caused flooding on Jalan Thean Teik in Air Itam and a boulder to fall on Bukit Baru, Jalan Tun Sardon here.
The Penang Island City Council (MBPP), in a series of Facebook postings, said the stretch of road was affected by floodwaters at about 9.50pm, but was still passable to traffic. By 11pm, the flood waters had subsided.
MBPP also said that heavy downpour caused a boulder to fall on Jalan Tun Sardon.
However, the stretch was still passable to traffic too.
"We advise all motorists to be on the alert and focus while on the road.
"MBPP's Skuad Pantas is on the ground to prepare for any emergencies," the statement said.
