KLANG: Several areas in Klang experienced flash floods following the morning downpour in the royal city.
According to the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) corporate communications director Norfiza Mahfiz flash floods occurred along Jalan Sentosa 52, Jalan Sungai Putus, Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Belah, Persiaran Batu Belah and Persiaran Sungai Keramat at Bandar Bukit Raja as well as Persiaran Aman Perdana.
"Floodwaters were between 10cm and 40cm deep at these locations but the waters are currently receding. Despite the flash floods, vehicles were still seen plying the affected routes," she said when contacted today.
She said rain gauge readings showed that Kampung Perepat received the most rainfall at 45mm followed by Bandar Klang (23mm), Telok Gong (12.5 mm) and Kampung Rantau Panjang (11.5 mm).
"The floods did not affect any houses in the areas," she said.
