BATU KAWAN: A man who went hiking and jogging alone at Bukit Hill Top Batu Kawan on Saturday has not returned home.
He was last seen at 5pm that day.
A Civil Defence Force spokesman said the disappearance of Muhammad Azfar Ismail, 28, from Taman Mutiara here, was reported by his brother at 11.59pm the same day.
He said a search-and-rescue mission was mounted, comprising police, the Fire and Rescue Department and the Civil Defence Force, with the help of locals.
"We have not found the missing man.
"Many measures have been taken to find the man at the 5km-wide hill. Locals even conducted a 'solat hajat'."
The spokesman said the search-and-rescue mission was ongoing.
Hikers and joggers usually throng the hill in the evenings, especially during the weekend. The distance from the foot of the hill to the top is about 1km.
