SIK: The family of navy officer Muhammad Faisol Tamadun, who died in the Lumut helicopter crash on April 23, says it has accepted the full report of the crash released today.
Faisol's eldest sister, Noryani Tamadun, 50, said the family had accepted the report after reviewing it, acknowledging it as divine decree for her brother.
"Everything has already happened... we are at peace.
"I hope other families can accept this and remain patient," she said here.
The report concluded that the collision between the two helicopters in Lumut was due to two factors.
The primary cause was the Eurocopter Fennec not maintaining the designated altitude and heading, entering the flight path of the Agusta Westland AW139 Maritime Operations Helicopter.
The secondary factor was the attention of the AW139 crew, which was focused on changing course, limiting their ability to avoid the collision.
Navy chief Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Ayob, who announced the report, said no human error was found.
The report aligned with the May 8 preliminary report, confirming that crew members were in good health and fit to fly.
The crew's flight certifications were valid and current, ensuring the safety of the aircraft.
Noryani said her family was arranging a 'badal haji' (haj by proxy) on behalf of the deceased.
"We placed a tombstone on his grave two weeks after his burial, and I understand that the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) contributed to installing a cover over the grave."
Noryani said her sister-in-law, Norsyuhada Jamil, 37, was grieving and not ready to speak on the matter.
The family of Petty Officer Noor Rahiza Anuar, 39, declined to comment on the report.
