MELAKA: A motorcyclist sustained injuries to his arm from being struck by a fallen wire cable after a tree fell on Jalan Bukit Senjuang, Banda Hilir, here today.
Melaka Fire and Rescue Department commanding officer Hazalani Jaafar said that they received an emergency call around 2.40pm before six members of the Padang Temu Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene.
"Upon arrival at the scene, a tree had fallen, obstructing the road, and an electric pole had fallen on a Proton Saga car.
"The 40-year-old victim was injured after being struck by the fallen wire cable and received initial assistance, while another victim in the car did not suffer any injuries," he said in a statement here today.
He added that tree cutting operations are still ongoing by the fire brigade team.
