Edu Minister expresses grief over Muadzam Shah crash, teacher and admin assistant among three killed

KUANTAN: The Education Ministry has expressed sympathy to the families of the victims killed in the tragic tour bus accident at Km126 of Jalan Kuantan-Segamat near Muadzam Shah, Rompin today.

SK Jeram teacher Hasnatul Adila Hasan, 48; the school's administrative assistant Hamzah Ahmad, 60, along with the tour bus second driver Hadi Asyraf Mad Idris, 29, were killed in the 12.40am mishap.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek expressed her deepest condolences on X , formerly Twitter, to the family of Hasnatul Adila, Hamzah and the bus driver.

"Several teachers suffered serious injuries and have been placed under close observation. I pray that all the injured teachers will get well soon and return to carry out their duties.

"The incident is certainly sad news for Malaysians. The ministry will do our best to assist those who were involved in the accident," she wrote.

In the mishap, the tour bus with a driver and co-driver was ferrying 37 people consisting teachers from SK Jeram in Masjid Tanah, Melaka, along with their children to attend a programme in Terengganu.

The bus had crashed into a trailer at the Bahau junction near Muadzam Shah before it flipped over on its side on a slope.
