4 dead, including Vietnamese women, in BMW and lorry accident 

BATU PAHAT: Four people were killed in a crash involving a BMW and a lorry on Kilometre 123.6 on the North South Expressway (Plus) last night.

All four of them were in the BMW, which collided with the lorry near Pagoh at about 8.15pm.

Three of the victims, a local man and two Vietnamese women, died on the scene.

The fourth victim, also a Vietnamese woman, died while receiving treatment at Hospital Sultanah Nora Ismail.

However, the identities of all victims have yet to be obtained.

It is understood that the police would be issuing a statement on the incident soon.

Meanwhile, the Fire and Rescue Department's Operations Centre said they received a distress call at 8.23pm.

Six of them from the Pagoh Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the location at about 8.40pm with machinery to extract the victims.

"The four victims were trapped in the car, but three of them died on the spot," they said in a statement last night.

"The operation ended completely at 9.59pm and the deceased victims were handed over to the police for further action," he said.
