PENDANG: A family of seven in Kampung Hampar Kiri, Mukim Air Puteh, has been left traumatised by a second storm hitting their house.
In the latest incident around 5pm today, a storm caused a Kuini tree to fall and damage the kitchen of Faridah Saad's home, 58.
Faridah said that during the incident, she was about to perform her wudu' (ablution) in the bathroom, while her husband, Ady Abd Ghani, 68, was preparing to go to the mosque.
"Before that, my child informed me that the weather was cloudy, dark, and the wind was strong. Before I had the chance to step out to check, the Kuini tree just outside the kitchen fell, damaging the roof and denting our Proton Saga.
"Even now, I am still shocked by what happened, as this is the second time a storm has struck our house," she said when contacted.
However, Faridah expressed gratitude that her family, including her grandchildren, were safe.
Meanwhile, Pendang Civil Defence Force Officer, Lieutenant (CDF) Yuslina Yusoff, said that they received reports of two houses in the village affected by the storm.
She said that personnel were dispatched to the location to carry out cleaning work and remove tree branches.
