KUALA LUMPUR: A man was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) stealing a woman's wallet at a toy store, and the footage has since gone viral on social media.
The incident, believed to have occurred in Klang, Selangor, was uploaded to X today by user @update11111.
In the video, the man is seen pretending to be a customer while browsing and purchasing a remote-controlled car.
As the female cashier tested the toy for him, the man discreetly took her wallet, which had been placed under the counter.
He quickly hid the wallet in his back pocket and continued acting as though nothing had happened.
The video has sparked outrage online, with many expressing disbelief at the man's actions, especially with the CCTV footage capturing everything.
"Even the woman is working hard as a cashier… and you, with more strength, only know how to steal. Shameful," said user @Delina87.
"Embarrassing. The whole of Malaysia will see the face of a thief," commented user @GunaNara.
The New Straits Times has reached out to the police for further information and is awaiting their response.
