Water supply disruption in Kuantan on Tuesday to affect 55,000

KUANTAN: Water supply to a total of 55,000 households and business premises in several areas in the state capital will be temporarily halted tomorrow.

Pengurusan Air Pahang Bhd (Paip) district manager Noor Izwan Bahudin said in a statement the disruption is due to electrical cable repairs by Tenaga Nasional Bhd at the Panching water treatment plant.

"The repairs will be carried out between 9am and 5pm tomorrow. Operations at the water treatment plant will cease until the work is completed.

"Consumers are advised to keep enough water and use it prudently during the scheduled supply disruption," read the statement.

Among the areas expected to be affected are Permatang Badak, Kampung Pandan, Sungai Isap, Taman Bukit Rangin, Jalan Kuantan-Gambang,10th mile army camp, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah and Felda Panching Timur.
