KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry has given its assurance that SPM students with 10As who have yet to secure a placement to continue their studies will be able to do so once the ministry resolves the issue.
Its minister Fadhlina Sidek, said no outstanding student would drop out of the system and the ministry asked all students and parents not to worry about the matter.
"The appeal process for admission to the Education Ministry's Matriculation Programme has been completed and the results were announced today.
"I am aware that there are still some outstanding 10A SPM students who have applied, but have not been able to find a place to continue their studies.
"Don't worry, give it some time and I promise the placement of outstanding students who have not been placed will be completed," she said in a statement today.
At the same time, Fadhlina said, the ministry along with the Higher Education Ministry were taking a proactive approach to ensure that the opportunity to continue their studies is given to all outstanding SPM students.
She said the Madani government's initiative to ensure that all excellent SPM students who obtained 10As get a place to continue their studies is a bold step to ensure that no one is marginalised.
"The Madani government is also committed to ensure that the rights of Bumiputeras continue to be protected through the existing Bumiputera quota for the ministry's Matriculation Programme," she said.
